The EU Commission's Financial Data Access regulation (or FiDA for short) proposal will be a massive step towards open finance, where financial institutions must be able to make the majority of business data available in a standardized form and in real time.

Impact on financial institutions: 

  • Innovation in products/sales through open data access and collaborations (platforms, whitelabelling, etc.) 
  • Lower barriers for new market participants (start-ups, apps, big tech, etc.)
